Puppies can start to be fed moistened AvoDerm® Chicken Meal & Brown Rice Small Breed Puppy Food about 3 weeks before weaning. The moistened food should always be fresh and should be offered 4 to 6 times per day, allowing the puppies to consume all that they want. After weaning, the following feeding guidelines can be used to help determine an amount to offer on a daily basis. The puppy should be fed 3 to 4 times per day during the first couple months and then can be fed 2 to 3 times per day depending upon appetite and feeding routine. Always adjust the feeding to avoid over conditioning of the puppy, allowing the puppy to grow optimally without excessive weight gain.
